Building a Library in the Forest

Every system collapses through the entropic temptation to store the world brain in one central server. The algorithmic alignment that creates the illusion of distribution of control produces enough variables to continuously damage biological feedback loops. The brain has always mimicked the World Soul and will continue to do so, while fighting the challenges of the transformation of the human world. Library in the forest is an anti-entropic project.

A research and design studio established with the aim of re-organizing knowledge from the standpoint of Northeast India and based on cybernetic principles.

Forest Cybernetics was initiated in 2020 by Mriganka Madhukaillya and Cristina Bogdan. With a background in film, design and philosophy, as well as teaching experience in Asia and Europe, they work together to create integrated models of being in the world.

The main project of the studio is Library in the forest, a pedagogy lab growing from Kaziranga, a forest and wildlife reserve in Assam.

Library in the forest is a pedagogy lab, growing from Kaziranga Forest and Wildlife Reserve in Assam, invested in understanding the protocols of forest cybernetics as a one-world philosophy, and in further developing them in accordance with the needs of our Age of Confusion.

The Library, as a philosophical project and a physical space, is the centre which generates knowledge production in various forms. The school, with a Foundation course at its core, and regular Winter Sessions, is one such form.

From our publishing house a l l u v i a l we produce series of books in relation to our pedagogical program, as well as independent series generated by our research and encounters. We also make films to accompany these projects.

Outside of these programs, the Library is open to all those willing to participate, learn, propose, and share with us ideas & work.
